Winners Never Quit, and Quitters Never Win!
This adage is one that I've lived my life by; I may have had several setbacks, but I've never given up. The self-belief I've developed through my online journey, and my passion for that, doesn't allow me to quit. I consider my setbacks as learning opportunities rather than as failures.
So, here I am today, with a simple message for you; never give up on your dreams! No matter how many setbacks, knock downs, pick yourself up, brush yourself down, and get started again. At times you may feel you are travelling through the darkness, but understand that you'll soon find the light at the end of the tunnel.
Here's My Journey
Back in the 1990s, I had no job back then because I couldn't find one that paid more than the minimum wage that suited me. However, I was fortunate that my wife was in a great-paying position, and she was the breadwinner for the family.
Although I was grateful for this, I wanted to provide for my family, so I was determined to find something. I went onto the Internet and typed a simple question into the search bar: "How to make money online."
I was immediately presented with dozens of websites showing opportunities for making money online. This search was the beginning of my online entrepreneurship journey.
With my wife's full support and the small amount of money I had myself, I purchased my first "make money online" course. I was incredibly excited, thinking, "I'm gonna make enough money to support my family, so they never have to work again."
However, the reality was somewhat different. I completed the course and applied everything I'd learned to the letter, but the money never came in. The course was on affiliate marketing, and I relied on blogs, link-building, free traffic, advertising on Craig's List, and so on.
I pursued these tactics for weeks, then months, and eventually years, but I couldn't achieve any traction. My wife was becoming concerned for me and suggested I try getting a steady job. But I couldn't; my pride was preventing me from giving up. I needed to be the breadwinner for my family, and I couldn't achieve that with a minimum-wage job..
Breaking Point
Our differences of opinions continued until my wife and I decided it was time to go our separate ways. I had grown up without a father, and I didn't want my 11-year-old son to go through the same.
My son was happy to stay with me, and I was delighted to have him. However, now I was really up against it; I was a single parent, relying on benefits to provide for my family. I just had to find out how this "make money online" thing worked!
I persevered with the strategies I'd learned on courses, testing and adjusting as I went on. I was able to borrow some money from my mother to buy another course on Google
AdWords. Back then, Google AdWords was the biggest thing in online advertising. It was also pretty reasonably priced, with some clicks costing a few cents or pence.
Having learned the basics of Google AdWords quickly, I set up my first advert. Within ten minutes, I was listed on the first page of Google. I set up an entire ad campaign with links to affiliate products.
Then, I waited...
The Breakthrough

I didn't have to wait too long before the first sale came in. Then the second, and then more sales here and there. Although this was initially exciting. What this experience gave me was the breakthrough I needed to show myself I could do it.
But then...
Google decided to change their algorithm, my whole world came crashing down. It was no longer as easy as to just put up an affiliate link, drive traffic to and get sales.
I was back to square one...
Months went by spending and testing out different courses, chasing those shiny objects and when put into practice just didn't seem to work.
Then after a few years I found a mentor that taught me a whole new way of affiliate marketing a way when put into practice worked like I've never seen before. He is totally transparent and leaves nothing on the table. I started to make money online again, but this time it was serious money.
With this new found training I discovered how to grow a successful business.
It gave me a business with no requirement to develop a unique product, hold stock, tie up capital, or provide customer service support. I had a business in which I was a connector, bringing together customers with exceptional products and getting rewarded for doing so.
